PARAMOUNT+ ANNOUNCES A SECOND SEASON OF LIONESS starring Morgan Freeman, Zoe Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveira, Michael Kelly and Nicole Kidman . From Taylor Sheridan, co-creator of Yellowstone, this hit spy thriller is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios.

Oscar ® winner Morgan Freeman becomes a recurring actor in the series. The five-star cast includes Zoe Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveira, Michael Kelly and Academy Award ® winner Nicole Kidman, who also serves as executive producer.

Paramount+ announced today that the original series  LIONESS  (previously titled  SPECIAL OPERATIONS: LIONESS ) has been renewed for a second season. Directed by Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan, the star-studded series includes executive producer Zoe Saldaña, Emmy ® nominee Laysla De Oliveira, Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman, who returns to his role in season two , as well as Academy Award winner and executive producer Nicole Kidman. This hit spy thriller is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios exclusively for Paramount+.

The first season of  LIONESS  set a new record by becoming, at the time, the most-watched international debut series on its launch day with a total of nearly six million viewers during its first week on Paramount+ in the whole world.

Inspired by a real U.S. Army program, LIONESS follows the life of Joe (Saldaña) as she attempts to balance her personal and professional lives as the CIA’s spearhead in the war on terror. The series also stars Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton and Hannah Love Lanier. The series is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Zoe Saldaña, Nicole Kidman, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, David Lemanowicz, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Friedman and Keith Cox and is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
