From February 12 to 24, OMEGA will auction at Sotheby’s 11 MoonSwatch Moonshine Gold cases, each containing the 11 OMEGA x Swatch “Mission to Moonshine Gold” watches.

11 MoonSwatch Moonshine Gold suitcases will be auctioned at Sotheby’s by OMEGA for Orbis .

This is the first time ever that these exclusive designs have been offered as a single set, and the first time that the special suitcase has been available for purchase, giving fans the chance to own a truly unique compilation. 100% of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to Orbis International, OMEGA’s long-standing partner, which fights blindness and preventable vision loss around the world.

Before the auction ends on February 24, the 11 “Mission to Moonshine Gold” suitcases will be on display in 11 OMEGA boutiques around the world from February 1 to  11, including boutiques in Zurich, Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, New York, London, Milan, Paris and Sydney. Visitors are invited to go on site to admire the collection on display.

Orbis’ work is particularly valuable to children, as it allows many of them to see their parents, the moon and the stars for the very first time. Through its programs and aboard the Flying Eye Hospital, Orbis has treated millions of patients, while training ophthalmology professionals in areas of the world where the need is greatest. OMEGA has supported Orbis since 2011 and this upcoming auction will highlight the brand’s continued commitment to this cause.

The original OMEGA x Swatch MoonSwatch collection, launched in March 2022, caused a stir and strong demand. Made from revolutionary BIOCERAMIC, the 11 models drew their colorful inspiration from space and planets, while paying homage to the legendary design of the OMEGA Speedmaster.

During 2023, the collection was supplemented with the “Mission to Moonshine Gold” models, a sparkling reinterpretation of the original design. These 11 watches each feature a seconds hand coated in 18-karat Moonshine™ gold – a distinctive alloy created by OMEGA that gives yellow gold a more subtle and durable form. Each of the Moonshine™ Gold hands also reveals its own detail, such as a strawberry pattern for the Strawberry Moon in July, a foral pattern for the Flower Moon in May, and even a “lollipop” pattern inspired by the Speedmaster CK2998 watch from 1961.

Each suitcase presented is unique, as they contain a golden monocle with the OMEGA x Swatch logo, and a unique coin, engraved with the three-letter aviation code of the city displayed (eg HKG for Hong Kong). This same code is engraved on the side of all the watches in the suitcase for the city in question.
